Walking in the wild and found a bee hive in a tree. So Cool!
I didn't know bees clustered with a full gut of wet honey. I ended up getting a spoon and testing that shiny honey and that is exactly what it is a wet honey. Must be a reason behind it. I know within the hour of bringing them in from the freezing cold they started unloading they're gut and filling cells. Kind of like when you smoke them and they rush over to fill the gut with honey then put it back . probably how they go most the winter without eating.
I was pretty amazed at how good the bees look today in my mating yard . It was 50 degrees today in southeast Michigan which gave me the chance to get some pollen sub on and start brood production . Going to be some outstanding breeding stock
Massive swarm is fun to do!
I wish all my nucs looked like these two... Exactly what I wanted to see going into winter.
63 degrees today and the Lyson Solar Melter is working. Impressive unit and I highly recommend it.
